Lead Security Engineer
Lead Security Engineer responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation, execution and optimization of security controls in coordination with Project Manager, SEIM, IDS/ IPS, Network Access Control
  • Provide 1st level support for firewall, dlp, endpoint, wireless and remote networking issues and other security implemented projects based on agreements
  • Plan, schedule and implement security tool upgrades, implementation and migrations in timeframes that have minimal impact on the users
  • Select, implement and deploy new security technology solutions that protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of business data
  • Monitor and repair networks, firewalls, VPN, SAML, SSO and other equipment before outages/ issues arise
  • Develop custom cybersecurity countermeasures and risk mitigation strategies for systems/ applications
  • Support Security Analysts with vulnerability, network and network security assessment remediations
  • Validate IT solutions collaboratively with infrastructure and application development project teams
  • Research, test and execute security settings, technologies and processes to reduce risks
  • Maintain, upgrade, implement (new), monitor and support enterprise Security Tools
  • Facilitate vendor partner product demonstrations and provide sales support
  • Prepare proposals, analyses and technical reports


Job Requirements

Lead Security Engineer Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical engineering field
  • 10+ years of technical engineering experience along with 5+ years of experience in an information security field
  • Understanding of malware protection, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, content filtering, internet proxies, encryption controls, log management solutions and other data security controls
  • Knowledge of Information Security functions such as metrics analysis, vulnerability management, policy implementation and technological controls
  • Ability to analyze complex systems and interfaces as well as create current state system architecture diagrams, highlighting security components
  • Knowledge of web application penetration testing, secure code review, secure static code analysis and other security applications/ software
  • Technical understanding of SQLi, lateral movement, privilege escalation, overflows, local file inclusion and other threats/ vulnerabilities
  • Outstanding written, verbal, presentation and customer service communication skills
  • Strong troubleshooting/ problem solving skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Team driven

Lead Security Engineer MUST be experienced in at least 2 of the Following:

  • Intermediate or higher level of Windows Administration
  • Microsoft SQL Server Security
  • Active Directory Group Policy
  • System hardening (CIS, NIST)
  • Checkpoint Firewalls
  • McAfee Toolset
  • Cisco Firewall
  • Nessus
  • Cisco
