Ecommerce analyst

 

Purpose

 

This position is responsible for the monitoring and reporting of the day-to-day eCommerce analytics and overall eCommerce customer experience for our company’s website. This position plays a key role in defining the direction of the online experience from both a design and content perspective.

 

Essential Functions

  • Define and measure success for content performance, focusing on audience acquisition, retention and conversion
  • Collaborate with store development and marketing teams to verify that all data tagging follows through on requirements
  • Identify and implement tracking codes (GA Tags) to ensure online & offline marketing efforts are tracked effectively
  • Conduct clickstream analysis to determine which referral sources and landing pages generate the highest engagement and conversion rates
  • Work with eCommerce management team to translate findings into clear takeaways that the publishing operations and product management leads can act upon
  • Define and carry-out A/B tests intended to determine where optimization can drive performance
  • Conduct extensive and self-directed analysis as defined by established goals
  • Help define business requirements for data collection to ensure that the data captured matches expected values
  • Deliver regular performance reports daily, weekly and monthly
  • Partner with business owners and executives to create/establish dashboards as needed
  • Work with business owners to translate report findings into actionable items
  • Develop and manage relationships with third party vendors providing data reporting and analysis services
  • Measure performance based on specific drivers, such as partner links, paid search, content promotions, marketing campaigns, etc.
  • Partner with digital marketing team to measure performance of paid channels
  • Work with marketing team to measure & report performance of offline campaigns (direct mail, TV, radio)

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Marketing (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
  • 3-5-plus years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
  • 2-3 years of experience with web analytics, preferably Google Analytics.  Experience with Google Tag Manager a plus
  • Experience with A/B testing methodology & solid foundation in statistics preferred
  • Thorough understanding of eCommerce merchandising (forecasts, inventory
    management, open to buy, etc.), marketing (SEO, affiliates, email marketing,
    retargeting, display advertising, etc.), systems and content management
  • Must be highly analytical, comfortable working with numbers and able to provide a data-driven rationale for new projects
  • Capable of analyzing KPIs and making recommendations for change as they pertain to
    sales, events, promotions, outbound communications, user generated content, marketing initiatives and site performance
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as cross functionally with a team to execute tasks and projects and achieve desired results
  • Must be organized, detail-oriented and possess strong problem solving skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced level proficiency in MS Office applications (proficiency in MS Excel required, familiarity with MS Access preferred)
  • Understanding of the omni-channel customer view
  • Must pass pre-employment background check
